Charles Dunphie (1978 - 1983) left the army in Decembet 2010 after 18 years in the Royal green Jackets & The Rifles, finishing as an instructor at RMA Sandhurst. Now works part-time for the ABF The Soldiers' Charity in Scotland whilst learning to run the family hill-farm.
Anthony Barlow (1942 – 48) moved to Devon, after thirty-one years in Cheltenham, having finally retired. Is always very pleased to hear of OEB (boys only then!) and is in regular touch with contemporary and ‘best friend’ Richard Addis (1942 - 48). Would like to be remembered to Christopher Dunphie (1943 - 48).
Edward Norris (1993 - 1999) is just finishing his first year with a small film company in London looking after ‘quality control’.
Andrew Stewart (1984 – 89) after nearly five years his company is still afloat, perhaps he explains because the weather has curtailed his windsurfing activity and he has been working harder! Recently moved to Oxford at which point Jago Wynne (1984 - 89) promptly left!
Charlie Findlater (1983 – 88) married in October 2009 to Beth. They are expecting their first baby in March of this year. Is currently Head of Sales at Marler & Marler in Knightsbridge a specialist property company. He is mad keen on road cycling and is going to complete the etape du tour in July in the Alps – baby and fitness allowing!
Henry Findlater (1985 – 90) married to Taline they have two girls Rosie (4) and Sophie (2). They live in Brook Green and Henry is working in equity sales at Investec having recently moved from Numis Securities. He recently ran the New York marathon with Rupert Ireland (1985 - 90) who he sees very regularly and is Godfather to Rosie.
Michael Rapp (1984 – 90) married to Roz with one son Bertie and number two on the way in April. Enjoying having brother Nicholas (1981 - 87) with Italian wife Sonia back in the country with their two children Edward and Sophia.
Michael Daviri (1961 – 66) is Chairman of brewers W.H. Brakespear in Henley on Thames.
Edward Ritchie (1979 – 84) married to Saori with three beautiful daughters. Spent seven years working out in Japan enjoying the food and the culture before returning to the UK in 2007. Working as a childrens’party organiser and taxi driver as well as part-time job in the city.
Hugh Savill (1966 - 70) married with two sons aged nineteen and seventeen. He works as a lobbyist for the Insurance Industry.
Charles Poole-Warren (1980 - 85) after Eton and Durham he joined Allen & Overy as a trainee solicitor. He is still, after all these years, lawyering and is now a partner in A&O’s Madrid office. Married to Marta they have lived in Madrid for over ten years and have two children, Nicholas aged 7 and Gabriela aged 4.
Charles Dunphie (1978 - 83) has just left the army and moved with his wife Amanda and three daughters to Scotland.
David Cheales (1974 – 79) is an Executive Director with Lockton Insurance Brokers specializing in war and terrorism insurance. He is married to Helen and has two young sons Ralph and Henry.
Brian Harrild (1944 – 49) ten years after retiring from his career as a Prep. School headmaster he is now engaged in home tuition. This is most rewarding work and does not involve him in classroom discipline which he remembers was sometimes a problem in his days at school!. Commander Sanderson once told him, as an Old Boy, that he had once gone into a classroom to see three separate fights going on. This was soon rectified with the aid of the ‘butter-pat’!
Sally Fehr (Headmaster’s Secretary & Registrar 1995 – 2002) over the eight years since retiring from her happy times at Elstree she has done a variety of P.A. work and much enjoyed several years helping two Lumley families who have had children and grandchildren at Elstree. Finally retired this year and is looking forward to some voluntary work and seeing more of her daughter Caroline who lives and works in Oxford and who also has fond memories of Elstree where she made many friends.
James Geddes (1978 - 82) as of January 2011 both his children Angus (5) and Lachlan (3) have been at home Farm were a certain Mrs S. Bates, who was Junior Matron at Elstree at the end of his time in 1982, is now helping to look after the next generation of Geddes'. Having retired from the Genadier Guards after nine years in the sarmy he began working for Property Vision, now a subsidiary of HSBC Private Bank UK Ltd, where he has been for ten years. Has been running the London office for the past three years which also covers the Middle East market which is quite interesting at the moment!
Ed Bowring (1988 - 93) got engaged in India in August 2010 and is to marry Sarah hill in July 2011 on the Isle of Wight. He is half way through his training to become an Occupational Therapist and he continues to live in West London.
Freddie Paterson-Morgan (1995 - 2000) having graduated from Oxford in 2009 with a degree in Theology he took a Masters degree in finance and accounting at the London School of Economics, gaining a first. He now works for UBS in London on their Mergers and Acquistion team.
Will Gardner (1979 - 84) lives in South-East london with his wife and four children. He is CEO of Childnet International, a children's charity that works to help make the internet a great and safe place for children.He is active on the UK Council for Child Internet Safety and is also on Facebook's safety Advisory Board.
Paul How (1999 - 04) and brother Daniel (2000 - 05) both started at Durham University this year reading International Relations and Engineering respectively. Youngest brother Joshua (2002 - 08) is working hard for his GCSE's which he sits this summer. He is thoroughly enjoying Monkton and would recommend a visit!
Rupert Mitchell (1987 - 92) recently became engaged to Miss Lucinda G. Pratt.
Alastair Yarrow (1991 - 97) married Charlie Hill, daughter of retired Headmaster Syd and Jane Hill at Malvern College on Saturday 16th April 2011
Lucy Gardner (1983 - 87) has been working in the field of HIV and sexual health for the past 13 years. this has taken her to many places such as Zimbabwe, Russia, Iran, Tajikstanand Thailand working with various health organisations. In between trips she is based in London working in the NHS counselling and testing people for HIV.She has also been involved in some arctic expeditions to the magnetic North pole and Baffin Island. Although the next trip is to somewhere warm she would love to go back to the cold - South Pole anyone?
Mark Lindsay (1977 - 82) and Katharine, a son, John Anthony Halsbury, born 17th March 2011 - congratulations!

Alexander Drysdale (1988 - 93) is working in Sydney, Australia as an Institutional Dealer for foster stockbrocking, focusing mainly on raising capital for midcap mining companies based on the Australian stock exchange. Thankfully the climate enables him to exercise his passion for golf and tennis.
Henry Drysdale (1990 - 95) is a Vice President at Goldman Sachs in London working in the Global Foreign Exchange trading desk. He married Sophie (nee Page) in September 2010.
Johnny Drysdale (1994 - 1999) is a trainee solicitor at SNR Denton in London.
Chris Thomas (1978 - 1984) has finally moved on from London having taught at KGS for elevern years to be Head of Mathematics at Malvern College. After one term, a return to boarding life has been quite a shock, having the use of Fives courts is a joy and the views are stunning. He has found a good church in Worcester and he is looking forward to the rest of the year. Hannah (6), Alice (4) and Finn (2) are enjoying their new surroundings although missing their friends in London.
Peter Gordon-Finlayson (1992 - 1999) joined the 1st The Queen's Dragoon Guards after graduating from Sandhurst in August 2009. Is at present a troop leader in Afghanistan in charge of fourteen men and five tanks. His tank was blown up by an IED - all walked out alive.
Thomas Holmes (1984 - 1989) is working in London. Married with no children yet he still enjoys golf and fishing both with bother Seth (1986-91).
Charles Maynard (1978 - 1984) is living in the US but is just about to start a year in Beijing. Married to Sophie they have three children the eldest of whom, Alex, might be heading for Elstree in the not to distant future. (sensible boy - Ed)
Oliver Christie (1979 - 1984) is married with three children (Emily 7, Bella 5 and Alfie nearly 2). Set up his own mobile games studio called Neon Play. Has had 27 million game downloads since they launched in 2010. The company has been awarded ten business awards which has helped boost their profile. It's a booming market and exciting times ahead! Brother Nick (1981-86) has two childrenand is International Sales Director of a plc which makes various security products. He travels quite a lot and the company are going well. Younest brother Will (1985-91) has one daughter and a baby on the way. He is a superyacht broker and is currently having three huge superyachts built in Holland and Germany. He sold more leisure tacht tonnage in 2011 than any other yacht broker in the world!
Neil Hathi (1995 - 1999) has finished medical school and is now working in Stoke Mandeville Hospital in Aylesbury.
Rory Codrington (2000 - 2006) is presently in Canada teaching children to ski. The 3 - 5 year olds are quite testing but he enjoying the experience.
Simon Ames (1945 - 1949) was honoured in the 2011 New Years Honours with an OBE. He, wife Sally and the family went to Windsor Castle in May of that year where he was invested by HM The Queen. The citation read 'for services to aviation' the industry in which he had spent his entire working life in various capacities (and he still does!)
William Davies (1978 - 1983) spends most of his time in Spain selling great quantities of his Greek extra virgin olive oil to the housewives of Britain such are the marvels of modern technology. It can be found on the internet by googling 'elanthy'! Brother Edward (1980 - 1985) lives in Bolivia where he imports electrical goods for sale in Santa Cruz and elsewhere.
